# Dynamic Blueprint
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/blueprint/dynamic-blueprint
Description of your new file.
### **Overview**
A **Dynamic Blueprint** defines only the **structure** of the paper — not the specific chapters.\
When you later use this blueprint to create a test, you will **choose the chapters at that time**.\
This makes it ideal for situations where the test syllabus changes frequently.
### **When to Use Dynamic Blueprint**
Use this when you want:
* The same paper structure (e.g., 2 VSAs, 3 SAs, 1 LA) but different chapters each time.
* To quickly create topic-specific or chapter-specific tests using the same format.
* To handle progressive tests (e.g., monthly, unit-wise exams).
### **How to Create a Dynamic Blueprint**
1. **Go to** the *Blueprints* section.
2. Click **“Create New Blueprint.”**
3. Choose **“Dynamic Blueprint.”**
4. Click **“Add/Edit Questions.”**
5. In the form (as shown below), specify:
* **Source:** Choose *All*, *NCERT*, *Exemplar*, or *Previous Year Questions*.
* **Subject:** Select the subject.
* **Question Type:** Choose *Subjective*, *Objective*, or *Mixed*.
* **Weightage:** Define marks or question category (e.g., *VSA, SA, LA*).
* **Required Questions** and **Suggestive Marks** as per the test pattern.
*(Note: In Dynamic Blueprint, you do not select a specific chapter.)*
6. Click **OK** to save.
7. Repeat for all question types and sections.
8. Click **Save Blueprint.**
When you later generate a test using this Dynamic Blueprint:
* The system will ask you to **select chapters** at runtime.
* The final paper will follow the same structure but use the selected chapters.
# Introduction
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/blueprint/introduction
Description of your new file.
A **Blueprint** in Examin8 defines the structure or design of a question paper.\
It acts as a **template** that specifies how many questions to include, what types of questions they are, and from which topics or chapters they should come.
Instead of selecting questions manually each time, teachers can create a blueprint once and reuse it to automatically generate question papers that follow the same pattern — saving time and ensuring consistency.
### **Advantages of Using a Blueprint**
* ✅ **Consistency:** Maintain the same marking scheme and pattern across multiple papers.
* ✅ **Time-saving:** Automatically generate new papers following the same structure.
* ✅ **Flexibility:** Modify the blueprint at any time to adjust question counts or types.
* ✅ **Balanced Evaluation:** Ensure coverage of all important topics and question types.
* ✅ **Dynamic Question Sets:** Even with the same structure, questions change every time — keeping papers unique.
## **Types of Blueprints**
Examin8 offers two types of blueprints: **Normal Blueprint** and **Dynamic Blueprint**.\
Both help teachers design question papers efficiently but differ in how chapters are handled.
For periodic tests, pre-boards etc.
For tests with fixed question type structure but with different chapters.
# Normal Blueprint
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/blueprint/normal-blueprint
Description of your new file.
### **Overview**
In a **Normal Blueprint**, the teacher defines the complete structure of the paper — including:
* Subject
* Chapter
* Question Type
* Question Category (e.g., VSA, SA, LA)
* Optional Difficulty Level
* Number of Questions
* Marks per Question
Each time a paper is generated using a Normal Blueprint, Examin8 automatically selects different questions of the same type and chapter, ensuring variety while following the same structure.
### **When to Use Normal Blueprint**
Use this when you want:
* Fixed control over which chapters are included.
* The same pattern reused across tests (e.g., periodic tests, pre-boards).
* Auto-rotation of questions while maintaining syllabus balance.
### **How to Create a Normal Blueprint**
1. **Go to** the *Blueprints* section in Examin8.
2. Click **“Create New Blueprint.”**
3. Choose **“Normal Blueprint.”**
4. Click **“Add/Edit Questions.”**
5. In the form (as shown below), specify:
* **Source:** Choose from *All*, *NCERT*, *NCERT Exemplar*, or *Previous Year Questions*.
* **Chapter:** Select the desired chapter (e.g., *Real Numbers*).
* **Topic:** Choose a topic or keep *All Topics*.
* **Question Type:** Select *Subjective*, *Objective*, or *Mixed*.
* **Category:** Choose the format (e.g., *VSA – Very Short Answer*, *SA – Short Answer*).
* **Difficulty Level (optional):** Select *Easy*, *Medium*, or *Hard* (if applicable).
* **Required Questions:** Enter how many questions you want from this selection.
* **Suggestive Marks:** Enter marks per question or per section.
6. Click **OK** to save your selection.
7. Repeat the process to add more sections or question types.
8. Once done, click **Save Blueprint.**
Your **Normal Blueprint** is now ready.\
Each time you create a paper using this blueprint, Examin8 will automatically select **new questions** following the same structure.

## How to add Teachers
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Go to the My Institute block on the Test Generator dashboard and click Teachers.
2. Now, click on the **Add teachers** button.
3. Here, you can add a teacher by email ID or mobile number. Adding a mobile number is mandatory at the time of teacher login, so we recommend adding teachers by mobile number directly. However, if you add teachers by email ID, they can add their mobile number later on.
4. While adding via mobile number, if you are not getting any data of the teacher, kindly ask the teacher to login on [https://app.examin8.com](https://app.examin8.com) with that mobile number first so that you can get his/her details there and assign permission.
5. You can also add teachers with dummy IDs like [teacher1@yourinstitutename.com](mailto:teacher1@yourinstitutename.com) and create individual passwords for them to log in. It is good to have uniform login IDs for all the teachers.
6. If the email ID is already registered in our database, you will get the option to add the number of papers to the teacher; otherwise, you need to register the teacher and then assign papers.
7. Enter the number of papers you want to assign to the teacher.
8. If you want to give permission to access any batch data to that teacher, you can give batch permission; otherwise, leave it blank
9. Click Save to proceed.
## Edit Teacher Permissions

2. To add or remove batch permission, click the batch icon.
3. To add more paper count or remove paper count, click the edit icon, then select (+) to add more papers and (-) to remove papers, then enter the paper count and click save.
# Batch Management
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/essentials/batch-management
Create batches and manage students online
With Examin8’s test generator, you can do more than just create question papers—you can also share online tests, worksheets, sample papers, study materials, and videos with your students. To enable this, simply create batches and add your students to them.
### Create Batch
To create a batch, go to the **My Institute** section, click **Batches**, and then select **Add Batch**. Schools can create section-wise batches such as VI-A, VI-B, VII-A, VII-B, and so on. Institutes can name batches based on subjects or schedules, for example, *Maths Morning Batch* or *Science Evening Batch*.
### Edit Batch Name
To edit a batch name, click on **Manage Batch** and scroll down to the **Summary** section. Then, click the **Edit** link to update the batch name.
### Delete Batch
To delete a batch, go to **Manage Batch**, scroll down to the **Summary** section, and click the **Delete** link. Before deleting the batch, ensure that all students have been removed from it.
## Student Management
In this section, you can add, remove, and assign students to batches. Once students are added to a batch in the Examin8 Test Generator, you can also track their performance and download their report cards.
### Add Students
There are three ways to add students to the batch.
1. With Email ID
2. With the Invite Link
3. With a CVS file (students in Bulk)
**(A)** **Add students with Email ID**: To add students with their email ID, there are two options:
(i) You can use a student’s existing email ID, such as a Gmail address. If the email is already registered with us, you can simply select a batch and complete the process. If it is not registered, a form will appear allowing you to enter the student’s first name, last name, and a password of your choice to continue. Since this is a third-party email domain, you will not be able to reset the student’s password or edit their name—only the student can do that.
(ii) We recommend adding students using dummy email IDs to protect their personal information and to retain the ability to reset passwords and edit student names whenever needed. To do this, choose a dummy email domain—preferably a short form of your institute’s name. For example, if your institute is *Laksha Academy of Excellence*, you can use [**lae.in**](http://lae.in) as the domain, creating email IDs like [*admissionnumber@lae.in*](mailto:admissionnumber@lae.in) or [*studentname@lae.in*](mailto:studentname@lae.in).
Ensure that each email ID is unique. Using an admission number or another unique identifier is recommended, as multiple students may share the same name. Alternatively, you can differentiate emails as [*kamal1@lae.in*](mailto:kamal1@lae.in) and [*kamal2@lae.in*](mailto:kamal2@lae.in).
**(B)** **Add students with the Invite Link**: We have provided an invitation link within the batch. Just copy this link and share it with your students. Here are the steps:
1. The student will click on the link and register themselves with their mobile number, email ID or Gmail or Facebook ID.
2. On successful registration, they will get a message "Approval Pending".
3. Now, you can go to **Batch** Management and click on the **Students** button.
4. Here, you will find all these pending requests for Approval under the **Pending** button.
5. Just approve the requests to add the students to the batch or reject them to discard. It is done.
**(C)** \*\*Add students in Bulk with a CSV file: \*\*If you are a school or coaching institute and are willing to add 100+ students in one go, you can share details on a CSV or Excel file. Our team will do it for you. Here is the format of this Excel file.
| First Name | Last Name | Email | Password | Class | Batch Codes | Institute Id |
| :--------- | :-------- | :---------------------------------------------------------- | :------- | :---- | :---------- | :----------- |
| AICHENG | GOGOI | [20207001@sibgovthsmp.org](mailto:20207001@sibgovthsmp.org) | 20207001 | 7 | R4JG8N | Leave Blank |
| | | | | | | |
Here, the email ID can be a dummy email ID, and the password can be any random 4–6 digit number. The **Class** should be a whole number between 1 and 12. For competitive exams like JEE or NEET, you can enter **12**. The **Batch Code** can be copied from the batch page and is displayed below the batch name. Leave the **Institute ID** field blank—we will fill it in for you.
Create this data in an Excel or CSV file and email it to [**contact@examin8.com**](mailto:contact@examin8.com).
### Remove Student
To remove a student, go to **Batch Management** and click the **Student** button. Select the student and then click **Remove**.
Once a student is removed from a batch, they will no longer be able to log in to that batch. However, you can add the student again at any time in the future.
### Disable Student
If you do not want to remove a student permanently but only wish to temporarily restrict access to content or online tests, you can disable the student by clicking the **Disable** button on the same page.
In this case, the student will still be able to log in to the batch, but the buttons for online tests and content access will remain inactive until the access is enabled again.
### Edit Student Name
If you have added students using a custom email domain and this feature is enabled in your Test Generator account, you can also edit the student’s name. To do this, go to **Batch Management**, click **Students**, and then select the **Edit Name** button below the student’s name to make the changes.
### Reset Student Password
On the same screen under **Batch Management > Students**, you will find an option on the middle right to reset a student’s password.
Please note that the **Reset Password** option is available only if you are using a custom email domain and have requested us to enable this feature for your account. For example, this applies when students are added using a dummy email domain such as [*studentname@yourinstitute.com*](mailto:studentname@yourinstitute.com).
### Change Batch
If a batch has already been assigned to a student and you need to change it for any reason, go to **Batch Management** and click the **Change Batch** button next to the student’s name. You can also assign the same student to multiple batches if required.
### Assign Batch
If you have conducted online tests using direct links and some students joined your institute without being enrolled in a batch, you can find them under the **Student** tab in the **My Institute** section.
On the Test Generator home page, scroll down to the **My Institute** block and click **Students**. On this page, click the **Batch Not Assigned** button to view the list of such students. Simply select a student and click the **Assign Batch** button to enroll them into a batch.
## Performance Analysis
When you go to **Batch Management** and click the **Students** icon, you will see two buttons below each student’s name: **Performance** and **Report Card**. The same analysis can also be accessed from the **Overall Performance** section in Batch Management.
### Report Card
The report card is the test-wise performance of the student. It shows the score of the student in individual tests attempted by the student.
### Performance
Here, **Performance** refers to the student’s topic-wise analysis. It is crucial to understand which topics a student is performing well in and which ones need improvement. This analysis provides deep insights into the student’s overall topic-level performance, based on all the tests attempted by him or her.
### Overall Performance
Consolidating both the Report Card (Test-wise Analysis) and the Performance (Topic-wise Analysis), we have an overall performance analysis inside Batch Management.

For example, if you buy 10 subscriptions and distribute them among 4 students, it may be as follows:
**How it works:**
To add myCBSEguide resources to the Examin8 Student Dashboard, you need to follow the following steps:
1. Create Batch & Add Students
2. Purchase Subject Credits
3. Assign Credits to Students
You can follow the tutorial below to create a batch and add students. If you already have existing batches, you may skip this step.
Creating a batch and adding students to the batch.
### A. Purchase Subject Credits
(1) To purchase subject credits, go to the Examin8 Dashboard, scroll the page down to Student Resources and click "Purchase".
(3) Purchase subject credits at ₹50 per subject. You can use these credits across all the batches you have on the Examin8 portal.
You can also use this link to buy the subject credits directly: [Buy Subject Credits](https://app.examin8.com/purchase-student-subscription).
### B. Assign Credits to Students
* To assign subject credits to your students, go back to the dashboard and under **Student Resources,** click "Assign."
* Here, select the batch, and you will get the list of students. Simply click on (+) icon and choose the class and subject that you want to assign.
* You can assign multiple subjects from multiple classes to a student.
### C. Remove/Re-assign Subject Credits
* Since subject credits are valid for one year from the date of purchase, you can remove them from any student at any time and re-assign them to others.
* This makes the system highly flexible—you can purchase additional credits whenever required and assign them accordingly. If your existing credits expire, you can simply renew them by purchasing new ones.

# Personalized Mobile App
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/essentials/pesonalised
Personalized mobile app with your brand name
### Your Identity is Your Brand
In today’s competitive education landscape, your identity is more than just a name—it is your brand. It is what parents trust, students remember, and your institution is recognized for. As learning continues to move into the digital space, building a strong and unique brand presence has become more important than ever.
Imagine offering your students a dedicated mobile app that carries your institution’s name, logo, and identity. With Examin8’s Custom Mobile App solution, you can do exactly that—at incredibly affordable rates. More than just a branded platform, the app comes pre-loaded with premium academic resources, giving students instant access to valuable study materials from day one.
From NCERT Solutions, Revision Notes, and Important Questions to a vast Previous Year Question Bank, Mock Tests, Online MCQs, and extensive practice exercises, everything students need for effective learning is already built in. It’s a powerful opportunity to teach, test, engage, and grow under your own brand while creating a seamless digital learning experience.
The future of education is branded, digital, and student-centric. Now is the perfect time to launch your own app and establish your presence in the digital classroom.
## Examin8 App Vs Custom App
The Custom Mobile App is essentially the same as the Examin8 Student App, but completely **rebranded with your own identity**. While the features and functionality remain the same, the Examin8 branding is replaced entirely with **your institution's name, logo, and brand elements**.
On your students' **Android devices**, the app will appear with **your brand name and app icon**—not Examin8. From the moment the app is launched, students will see your custom splash screen, creating a seamless branded experience.
Once logged in, students will continue to **interact only with your brand**. All menus, icons, and visual elements will reflect your institution's identity, and the academic content will be presented without any references, links, or branding related to Examin8 or myCBSEguide.
In short, this is a **fully white-label mobile app** that allows you to offer a complete digital learning platform under your own brand, giving your students a professional and consistent experience from start to finish.
## Key Features

Access to the app is restricted to your registered students. Please note the following limitations and conditions of the mobile app:
* **Batch Management Requirement:** Students can access the mobile app only if they have been added to a batch. Therefore, you must create batches and assign students to them through the dashboard to enable their access to the app and its resources. Here is how you can [create batches](https://docs.examin8.com/essentials/batch-management#create-batch).
* **Student Login Requirement:** To enable mobile app access, you must create a unique custom (dummy) login ID and password for each student, such as [*student@yourinstitute.com*](mailto:student@yourinstitute.com). Students registered using a personal Gmail address or mobile number cannot log in to the mobile app. This guide explains how to [add students to a batch](https://docs.examin8.com/essentials/batch-management#add-students).
* **App Distribution:** The mobile app is provided as an **Android APK file**, which can be downloaded from your Test Generator dashboard. You can share the APK download link directly with your students through WhatsApp or any other communication channel. Since the app is distributed outside the Google Play Store, some Android devices may display security warnings or encounter installation restrictions. In such cases, students may need to allow installation from unknown sources or adjust their device settings to complete the installation.
* **Freemium Resources:** The study resources provided through the platform are not entirely free. Revision Notes and NCERT Solutions are available to all students at no cost. Other resources follow a freemium model, where some content is accessible for free while premium items remain locked. When a student clicks on a locked resource, a message will appear like "Please ask your teacher to unlock the premium content for you". You can [**buy these premium resources**](https://app.examin8.com/purchase-student-subscription) from your Test Generator dashboard at a cost of ₹50 per subject, per student, per year and assign the same to your students. If a student leaves the batch or is removed before the subscription period ends, you can [**reassign the premium resource**](https://youtube.com/shorts/Wn9Phka4W0Q?si=OBiB_AHc8iVlaHza) access to another student for the remaining validity period, ensuring maximum utilization of your subscription.

To edit/delete the table or to add or delete a row/column, right-click anywhere between the table and select the desired action.
**Note**: You can also copy the table from a Word file and paste it here.
### (c) Adding Math Equations
Adding mathematical equations and special characters to the question is two step process.
**Step-1 - Get the equation in LaTeX format**
There are many LaTeX equation editors available that can help you create mathematical equations in LaTeX format. Here is one such editor that you can use easily.
1. Open [https://latexeditor.app/](https://latexeditor.app/)
2. Select the icon that you want to create. For example, to write a fraction, select first a/b icon and replace a and b with your numbers.
3. If the equation is displayed correctly, simply copy the LaTeX code. In the above case, the code is "\frac2345"
**Step-2 - Paste the LaTeX code in the question**
1. Now, come back to your question page and click on the place in question text where you want to add this equation, and then click Σ icon on the toolbar.
2. Delete the equation already written there and paste yours.
3. It will display your equation there. If it's working fine, click the OK button. Your equation will be added.
4. To edit this equation, just double-click it and you will be able to edit it.
5. In the same way, you can add complex mathematical equations and special characters.
### (d) Adding Images
Adding images to the question is very simple on Examin8. Click on the image icon as shown below:
Then click on the browse link
Select the image from your device and upload it. Crop the uploaded image as per your requirement and then click the Crop & Upload button.
**Resize the image**
If you find that the uploaded image is too large or too small, you can resize it by double-clicking on the image. This will open the following pop-up.
* In the **Width** box, enter the size in pixels (for example, 100 for 100 px).
* The **Height** box will adjust automatically.
* Make sure the black lock icon remains in the locked position so the width–height aspect ratio stays correct.
You can also directly paste images there. Here is how you can do so.
### (e) Adding Images Directly
1. If you are in Windows device, use \*\*Windows key + Shift + S \*\*to take a screenshot of the image from any webpage or document.
2. Now, click on the image icon on the toolbar in the Examin8 page where you are adding the image.
3. Click inside the pop-up box and use **Ctrl+V** to paste the image. All other steps are the same as above.
## Add Questions using CSV File
The first step to use this feature is to download the sample CSV file. Separate file formats are available for each question type. It is recommended to download the appropriate format first and then add your questions to it.
### **(1) Download Sample File**
Click on **Upload CSV**, fill in all the required fields as shown below, and then download the sample file.
### **(2) Add Questions in CSV File**
**Limitation**: You can add only plain text in the CSV file. There is no direct option to include images, mathematical equations, or special characters in a CSV file. Even if you add them, they will not be uploaded to the Examin8 question bank.
We have selected MCQ-type questions. Here is the blank CSV file.
Now, let’s add questions to the file. Make sure you **do not make any changes to the first row**; otherwise, the data will not be added.
Once the questions are added to the CSV file, save it and open the upload pop-up again onthe Examin8 Dashboard.
### (3) Upload CSV File
Fill all the fields as earlier and then click the Choose File button there. Select the file from your device and upload it.
Click the **Preview** button to check the questions. It will show you questions one by one. Read the questions and make necessary changes if required and then submit.
### (4) Edit or Delete Question
If you still find any issue with a question, you can edit it at any time by clicking the **Edit** button provided below the question text.
If you want to delete any question, simply click the **Delete** button.

Source: https://docs.examin8.com/essentials/refer-and-earn
Refer Examin8 to others and get papers into your account.
## What is Refer & Earn?
Refer and Earn is an exclusive, win-win feature for both you and the teachers you refer. You will receive a unique discount code to share with other teachers. When they make a purchase using your code, they get a 10% discount, and you earn 10% question papers credited to your account.
## **How does it work?**
For every test generator purchased using your coupon code, you will receive 10% of the total number of question papers credited to your account. For example, if a user buys 100 question papers with your coupon code, 10 additional papers will be added to your account. These credited papers will remain valid until the expiry date of your current package.
## How to Enable Refer & Earn?
On the Test Generator dashboard, scroll the page down to the **My Account** section and choose **Refer & Earn** there.
Now, copy the \*\*Referral Code \*\*provided there and share the same with teachers. As soon as they apply the code, you will get the details on this page with an option to redeem the papers.
## How to Redeem Papers?
You will find the **Redeem** option in the **Refer & Earn** section. Simply click on **Redeem** to add the earned question papers to your account.
Please note that the validity of these redeemed papers is linked to your current subscription’s expiry date. If your package is nearing expiration, it is recommended to renew your subscription first and then redeem the papers. This way, you will get a longer validity period to use them.
Also, please note that you can only redeem the papers if you have an active subscription. Without an active package, the redeem option will not be available.
# Reseller Account
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/essentials/reseller
Reseller account on Examin8 Test Generator
Before we begin this document, let's first understand the difference between a standard account and a reseller account.
| Feature | Standard Account | Reseller Account |
| :------------------------- | :-------------------------------------- | :------------------------------------ |
| **Best For** | Single institute or teacher | Multiple institutes |
| **Account Control** | The institute owner manages the account | The reseller manages all institutes |
| **Paper Creation** | Institute & teachers | Institutes & their teachers |
| **Teacher Management** | Institute | Institute |
| **PDF Headers** | 3 headers only | Separate headers for each institute |
| **Institute Name & Logo** | 1 institute name & logo | Unique name & logo for each institute |
| **Teacher Header Access** | Use institute headers only | Use their institute's headers only |
| **Add Custom Headers** | Teachers cannot add headers | Teachers cannot add headers |
| **Multiple Institutes** | Not supported | Supported |
| **Branding** | Single institute branding | Individual branding per institute |
| **Centralized Management** | No | Yes |
Examin8 Test Generator offers two account types: **Standard Account** and **Reseller Account**. A Standard Account is designed for individual institutes or teachers. In this account, the institute owner can create question papers, access all available features, and add teachers to the account. The owner can assign a specific number of papers to each teacher for creation. The institute can upload up to **three PDF headers** along with **one institute name and logo**. All teachers added under that institute must use only the headers uploaded by the institute and cannot add or modify PDF headers themselves.
For users who wish to provide the Examin8 Test Generator service to multiple institutes, the **Reseller Account** is the ideal choice. A reseller can create and manage multiple institute accounts from a single dashboard while maintaining overall administrative control. Each institute under the reseller account can independently add its own PDF headers, institute name, logo, and teachers. This allows every institute to customize its question papers according to its branding requirements while the reseller oversees and manages all associated institutes.
### Summary
* **Standard Account**: Best for a single institute that wants to create papers, manage teachers, and use shared institute-level PDF headers and branding.
* **Reseller Account**: Best for users who want to manage **multiple institutes**, allowing each institute to have its own branding, PDF headers, teachers, and paper creation activities while maintaining centralized control through the reseller account.

# Dynamic Mode
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/exam-management/dynamic-mode
In Dynamic Mode, you can select the desired chapters, and the paper will be generated automatically based on a predefined blueprint. The same blueprint can be reused with different chapter selections. In this mode, the chapter-wise weightage is distributed almost evenly.
### When should you use Dynamic Mode?
If you’re not particular about chapter-wise marks distribution and prefer a standard exam format, such as 40, 60, 80, or 100 marks papers, then **Dynamic Mode** is the right choice.
This mode is also helpful when you want to create an annual exam-style paper using only selected chapters. For example, if you want to make an 80-mark paper similar to CBSE board exams but with fewer chapters, **Dynamic Mode** is the best choice.
### How to Create Papers in Dynamic Mode?
Here are the steps to follow while creating a question paper in dynamic mode:

# NCERT Textbook Mode
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/exam-management/textbook-mode
In the Examin8 Test Generator platform, the “Textbook” blueprint mode is a special option meant for creating question papers solely from the chapter-end questions given in the NCERT textbook rather than from the full question bank or a pre-filled blueprint. The best part of this blueprint mode is that it's 100% free.
### What is it?
* When you choose the “Textbook” mode as your source of questions, you’re opting to pick questions from the textbook’s chapter-end questions only.
* In this mode, you typically get the “NCERT Textbook” option under “Source Selection” when generating a paper.
* It is presented as the **free / “Basic”** mode of Examin8. Using the textbook-questions-only mode does not deduct from one’s paid-paper count (for users with a subscription) — it’s free to use.
### What it is *not*
* It is *not* the same as a “prefilled blueprint” mode, where the system uses a formatted question-paper template with marks, sections, difficulty levels, and a mix of question types drawn from the full question bank. (That would be other modes like “Automated” or “Dynamic”.)
* It doesn’t necessarily let you fully customise every aspect of structure unless you pick a more advanced mode; it’s oriented towards using textbook question lists.
### How to use it
1. In the paper-creation process: after selecting class, subject and module, you’ll see **Source Selection**. Choose the **NCERT Textbook** or equivalent.
2. Then you’ll choose **Blueprint Mode**: there you select the “Textbook” mode (or “Text-book” mode) as your structuring method.
3. You select the chapters from which you want to pull questions (because you’re working from textbook chapter-end questions).
4. The system displays the available textbook questions. You can pick them one by one.
5. Finalise the paper, download as PDF/Word.
### Demo Video

### When to use the Textbook mode
* Ideal for **school-level term tests**, where you want to ensure questions are drawn directly from textbook-chapter-end questions (makes preparation more aligned with the students’ textbook work).
* Useful when you are working with boards/streams where the textbooks carry significant weight in examinations (for example, CBSE with NCERT).
* Good for quick paper generation without needing to worry about custom question types, difficulty mixes, and full question-bank variety.

Welcome to the Examin8 app! This guide is designed to help educators create question papers online within minutes.
## **Overview**
Test Generator helps Schools, Coaching Institutes, Teachers, and Tutors create Question Papers online in minutes with their names and logo.
Already Hundreds of schools and thousands of coaching classes are using it to create:
1. Question Papers
2. Online Tests
3. Worksheets and Assignments
New users can follow our quickstart guide here.
## Create Question Papers in Minutes
After one-time account setup, you can start creating question papers. Here is a broad overview of the test generator interface. Click on the **START** button or **CREATE PAPER** to continue and then choose your class & subject.
### (1) Source of Questions
There are primarily two sources of questions. NCERT Textbook questions and all other questions. Here is a brief description of both of them:
**(a) NCERT Textbook**: If you choose the NCERT Textbook questions option, you will get all the in-text, example, and end-of-chapter questions exactly as they appear in the NCERT textbook. Creating question papers in this mode is completely free, and even with a paid plan, these papers will not be counted or deducted from your quota.
Create question papers using NCERT textbook questions. It's **100% free**.
**(b) All Questions (Premium):** This option includes questions from the NCERT textbook, NCERT Exemplar, previous years’ question banks, as well as questions created by our expert faculty and contributed by other teachers. It also features the latest exam-pattern questions, such as case studies, assertion–reason, multiple choice, fill in the blanks, true/false, statement-based, picture-based, map-based, passage-based, extract-based, and more. The question bank is updated almost daily to ensure fresh and relevant content.
### (2) Test Paper Type
After selecting the question source, you will be prompted to choose the type of question paper. If you select the **NCERT Textbook**, only two options will be available: **Question Paper** and **Worksheet**. However, if you choose **All Questions (Premium)**, you will have access to additional options. Below are the types of test papers you can create using the premium feature:
**(a) Question Paper (PDF/Word):** A standard question paper available in PDF and Microsoft Word formats. A separate solutions PDF is also provided. This format is best suited for offline examinations.
**(b) Worksheet (PDF/Word):** Similar to a question paper but without maximum marks, time limit, or general instructions. Ideal for creating worksheets and homework assignments.
**(c) Online Test – Objective (Link):** An online test consisting only of objective-type questions such as MCQs, true/false, fill in the blanks, and one-word answers. Results are generated automatically.
Go through this link to create and conduct Online Tests within minutes.
**(d) Online Test – Subjective (Link):** An online test that includes both objective and subjective questions. The objective section is evaluated automatically, while the subjective responses are assessed by the teacher. Students upload question-wise images of their answers.
### (3) Blueprint Mode
As part of our standard process, we first create a **blueprint** before preparing the actual question paper. A blueprint is the foundational framework of a question paper that outlines its overall structure. It clearly defines the number of questions, types of questions, mark-wise distribution, general instructions, total marks, and time duration. This ensures the question paper is well-balanced, systematic, and aligned with assessment objectives.
There are multiple blueprint modes available on Examin8 Test Generator. Here is a tabular comparison of all these blueprint modes:
| Mode | Expected Time | Skills Required | Flexibility |
| ------------ | ------------- | --------------- | ----------- |
| Manual | 30 Minutes | High | Very High |
| Express | 10 Minutes | Moderate | Moderate |
| Dynamic | 5 Minutes | Minimal | Moderate |
| Automated | 2 Minutes | Minimal | Minimal |
| PYQ | 2 Minutes | Minimal | Minimal |
| My Questions | 60 Minutes | Very High | Very High |
| Textbook | 30 Minutes | Moderate | Moderate |
As you know, we prepare a blueprint before creating an actual question paper. There are multiple blueprint modes to create papers. These are
Create a blueprint by adding sections and specifying the required number of questions in each section, chapter by chapter. This option is ideal when a high level of customization is needed.
Everything on one page. Just select the required questions from each chapter to create a paper. Suitable if less customization is required.
Select the chapters, and the paper will be generated automatically using a prefilled blueprint for 40, 60, 70 or 80 marks.
The question paper will be generated automatically based on a predefined blueprint, including specified chapters and chapter-wise weightage.
Add your own questions or select questions from your own question bank.

Please note that the order of questions and options shown on the result page is the same for all students. As a result, students may see a different sequence on the result page than what they encountered during the test. However, the evaluation remains accurate, and responses are marked exactly as selected by the student

You can share this draft with your school examination in-charge or the concerned person for review. After receiving their feedback, return to this page, make the suggested changes, and finally click **Continue** to create the final quiz link.
### **Advance Test Options:**
1. **Add internal Choice within Section**: If you want to give an internal choice within sections, like attempt any 5 questions out of the given 10 questions from a particular section, you should click on the enable button there and update the number of questions to be attempted. Leave blank if you want the student to attempt **all questions** from any section. You must **change the overall marks accordingly**.
2. **Negative Marking**: To enable negative marking, use this option. You will get different formats as below:
**(a) Overall Negative Marking**: It means you can implement a common rule for all the questions. For example, 25% negative marking means each and every question will have 25% negative marking.
**(b) Section-wise Negative marking**: It means, each section will have a different rule. Like section A will have 25% negative marking and section B will have no negative marking and so on.
**(c) Question Type-Wise Negative Marking**: If you would like to have different rules for each question type, you should select this option. For example, MCQs can be under 33% negative marking, MRQs (multiple correct) can have 50% negative marking, Numericals can have NO negative marking and Matching type may have any other rule.
3. **Continue**: Click **‘Continue’** to finalise your online test.
### Step 8: Online Test and Result Date - Time
1. **Quiz Start Date-Time**: This is the date and time when the online test will start. You can click on the right square icon to select the date and time.
2. **Quiz End Date-Time**: This is the date and time when the online test will end for all. It is not necessary to end the quiz exactly after the duration is over.
3. **Important Note**: Here are some very important points to note:\
**(a)** **The gap between start-time and end-time** can not be less than the quiz duration. For example, if the quiz duration is 60 minutes, there must be a gap of 60 minutes between the quiz start and end time. To keep the test live for a longer time, you can **keep a gap of 2-3 days or even more,** but not longer than your package expiry date. \
**(b) Start-time can not be less than the current time**. It means, if the current time is November 10, 2016, 10:45 PM, your start time can not be earlier than that. But you can put any future time up to your package expiry date.\
(c) You can **edit the date and time** of the test under MY PAPERS till the test actually starts. But once the test is started, you will get the option to change the date and time.
4. **Result Date and Time**: There are four options. Choose any one of them as per your requirement.\
**(a) When the quiz ends for all**: It means your students will get the result at the quiz end date and time. \
**(b) Let me decide a date**: You can pick a date to declare the result. It can be any date after the quiz end date & time.\
**(c) I will decide later**: You can leave it for now and decide on a result date later. Also, if you don't want to show results to your students, you can choose this option. \
**(d) When the student submits the test**: If you want your student to see the results immediately after submitting the test, you should use this option. The main drawback of this option is that if you are sharing the same test with multiple student who knows each other, they can share the answer key.
5. After that, click on **Create Quiz** to proceed.
### Step 9: Share Online Test
There are two ways to share the online test with your students:\
(a) Share using Normal Browser\
(b) Share using Safe Exam Browser
| Features | Normal Browser | Safe Exam Browser |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Multiple Tabs | Students can open a new tab to find answers on the internet. | Students can't open a new tab until the test is in progress. |
| Re-attempt | Students can close the browser and resume or re-attempt the test. | Students can't re-attempt the test once the browser is closed. |
| Screenshots | Students can take screenshots. | Students can't take screenshots. |
| Screen Recording | Students can record the screen. | Students can't record the screen. |
| Keyboard Shortcuts | Students can use keyboard shortcuts to open any other application, like a calculator. | Students can't use any keyboard shortcut to open any other application. |
| Copy, Paste and Print | Students can easily copy, paste or print the paper. | Students can't copy, paste or print the paper. |
### **(a) Share on Normal Browser**
Once the test is created, go to 'My Papers' and click on 'Actions' below the paper name, then click on 'Share'.
After that, you will get two options:
**(a) Within Batch**: If you have already created batches, just select this option and tick the batch name and save. You can share the same test with multiple batches, too. Now your students will open the [Examin8 App](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.examin8.exam) or [https://web.examin8.com](https://web.examin8.com) to access and attempt this online test. \
(**B) Without Batch**: If you want to share the quiz link with your students without any batch, simply select without batch option and then click Copy Link or click WhatsApp (if doing on a mobile phone), and share the same with your students via email, SMS or WhatsApp.
### **(b) Share on Safe Exam Browser**
In short, Safe Exam Browser is very safe and secure as compared to a normal browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc)
| Feature | Safe Exam Browser | Normal Browser |
| :-------------------- | :---------------- | :------------- |
| Prevents cheating | ✅ Yes | ❌ No |
| Blocks other apps | ✅ Yes | ❌ No |
| Re-attempt Blocked | ✅ Yes | ❌ No |
| Tab switching Blocked | ✅ Yes | ❌ No |
| Copy / Paste Disabled | ✅ Yes | ❌ No |
Once the test is created, go to 'My Papers' and click on 'Actions' below the paper name, then click on **Generate Safe Exam Browser (SEB) File**. It is a one-time task. As soon as the SEB file is generated, you will get the option to share it.
Now, click on the Actions button again and then click Share on Safe Exam Browser.

## Modify Answer Key - Regenerate Result
After the test has been conducted and the results are declared, you may discover that a few options in the question paper were incorrect. In such cases, you can correct the affected question options and regenerate the results for all students using the updated answer key.
Please note that result regeneration is a **one-time process only**. You may edit the answer key as many times as required before regeneration. However, once the results are regenerated, you will no longer be able to modify the answer key or regenerate the results.
**Important:** Any change made using this feature applies only to the current test paper. It does not modify the original question or its correct answer in other test papers.
**What will NOT change**:
* Question Paper & Solution PDF
* Original Answer Key PDF & CSV
* Original Question Text & Options
**What will change**:
* Result Analysis
* Report Card
* Result CSV file
**Step 1: Edit the answer key**
(a) Go to My Papers, then click on ACTIONS, then click **Review**.
(b) Click on **Edit Answer Key**. This option will be visible only when the test end time is reached. You can not edit the answer key until the test is going on.
(c) The changes will be auto-saved and once you complete the review, you can go back to the My Papers page.
**Step 2: Regenerate Result**
After completing the answer key review, click on the Result link in ACTIONS. Here, you will find a new option, "Process Quiz for All".
Click this button to regenerate the results for all students at once based on the revised answer key.

# Online Exam - Student
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/online-exam/online-exam-student
This guide will walk students through the available methods for attempting online exams on Examin8. Tests can be accessed through web.examin8.com using Google Chrome or any modern browser, or taken directly within the Examin8 mobile application. For those who prefer enhanced security and controlled access during the assessment, the Safe Exam Browser option is also supported. The following sections will help you understand each mode and choose the one that best fits your exam requirements.
## Exam Types
There are three primary formats available for conducting exams online.
1. Online Test (Objective) Link
2. Online Test (Subjective) Link
3. Online Test (PDF) File
**Comparision Table**
| **Tests** | **Objective (link)** | **Subjective (link)** | **PDF (file)** |
| :------------------------ | :----------------------------------------------------------------- | :--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Question Types** | Online test with only objective-type questions. | May include both objective and descriptive (subjective) questions. | A PDF file is shared as an online test. |
| **How to Attempt** | Attempt online using a mobile phone, laptop, or desktop. | Attempt online using a mobile phone, laptop, or desktop. | A download link is provided for the PDF question paper. Students write answers offline in their notebooks. |
| **How to Submit** | Students select answers online and submit when completed. | Detailed answers must be written in a notebook and uploaded as an image *for each question*. Objective questions can be answered directly on screen. | All answers are written on paper, then scanned or clicked and compiled as a *single PDF* to upload. |
| **How to Evaluate** | Automatically evaluated by the system. | Objective responses are auto-checked. Subjective answers must be evaluated manually by the teacher before publishing the final result. | The teacher downloads the submitted PDF, checks it using annotation tools, and re-uploads one evaluated PDF per student. |
| **How to Get the Result** | Results are generated automatically as per the teacher’s settings. | After teacher review, results are processed and released by the software. | Students can download their evaluated answer PDF to view the result. |
## Type of Test Links
There are **two types of test links** available: batch-assigned exams and open-link tests that are not tied to any batch.
### **(a) Test Assigned to Batch**
If a test is assigned to a batch, access is restricted to the students included in that batch. You’ll need a valid login ID and password or a registered mobile number provided by the institute to enter the exam.
**Test Link**: All batch-assigned exams can be accessed through a single universal link, regardless of class, subject, batch, or test name. Simply visit [**web.examin8.com**](http://web.examin8.com) to begin.
### **(b) Direct Test Link (without Batch)**
You can sign in using any email address or mobile number to begin. Once the test link is opened, you’ll be prompted to choose whether you’d like to attempt the exam through a web browser or the mobile app.
**Test Link**: When a test is shared through a direct link (without being assigned to a batch), a unique link is generated for each exam. These links are publicly accessible, meaning anyone who has the URL can open the test and log in using any email address or mobile number.
## How to Attempt the Test
There are multiple ways to attempt online tests. You can access them on normal web browsers, Safe Exam Browser and the Examin8 mobile app.
### (1) Normal Web Browser
If the institute hasn’t limited access to Safe Exam Browser, the test can be opened through any standard browser, including Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.
**(a) Direct Test Link**: Just click the link and it will open automatically in your default browser. From there, sign in using your email address or mobile number to start the test. You may also choose **Sign in with Google** for a quicker login and then click **Take Test**.
**(b) Test Assigned to Batch**: Here are the steps to follow:
* Open [https://web.examin8.com](https://web.examin8.com) on any web browser.
* Sign in using the exact credentials registered with your institute or the ones they have provided for accessing this batch. Logging in with any other email address or mobile number will prevent you from entering the exam.
* Go to the **Assigned Test** link and then click **Take Test**.
**Important Guidelines**
* For the best experience, use **Google Chrome** to attempt the test. Ensure that the browser is updated to its latest version before you begin.
* Maintain a **stable internet connection** throughout the exam to avoid interruptions.
* While entering values for **numerical questions**, your keyboard may cover the *Save & Next* button. After typing your answer, either\
**(a)** tap anywhere on the screen, or\
**(b)** press the *down arrow* to return.\
Avoid any other action, as it may navigate you out of the test.
* If your test gets submitted unintentionally, **inform the invigilator immediately.** They may allow you to reattempt depending on the institute's policy.
* The system tracks how many times you move away from the test and displays this information to the institute along with your results.
* Before final submission, you’ll see a summary of **attempted and unattempted questions.** If anything looks incorrect, review and complete pending questions before submitting.
* You may use the **Review** option to check progress, revisit questions, or jump to a specific section or question number.
* To review questions, tap the **three-dot menu** in the top right corner. To return, use the **back arrow** in the blue header or the **back button** below. Any other action may cause you to exit the test unintentionally.
### (2) Safe Exam Browser
Safe Exam Browser (SEB) is a specially developed secure testing environment used to conduct online examinations with maximum integrity. It locks down the device during the test so students cannot switch apps, open new tabs, search for answers, take screenshots, or access external software or files. Once the exam begins, the system restricts navigation and limits the device to the exam window only.
SEB uses a controlled browser interface, custom security settings, and various configuration options that institutions can apply, such as:
* Disabling tab switching, app switching, and background navigation
* Blocking shortcuts like copy, paste, minimize, or screen capture
* Restricting access to other websites, applications, files, or external devices
* Running tests in full-screen mode with no exit option unless allowed by the administrator
First of all, you need to download and install **Safe Exam Browser** on your computer (if not already installed). Then open the downloaded .seb file by double-clicking it — the test will automatically launch inside SEB.
👉 Safe Exam Browser: [Download Link](https://safeexambrowser.org/download_en.html)
**How to attempt the test on SEB?**
**(a) Direct Test Link**
Just click the link and it will open automatically in your default browser. From there, sign in using your email address or mobile number to start the test. You may also choose **Sign in with Google** for a quicker login and then click **Download File**. Open the .seb file by double-clicking it — the test will automatically launch inside SEB. All other instructions are the same as for a normal browser.
**(b) Test Assigned to Batch**
Here are the steps to follow:
* Open [https://web.examin8.com](https://web.examin8.com) on any web browser.
* Sign in using the exact credentials registered with your institute or the ones they have provided for accessing this batch. Logging in with any other email address or mobile number will prevent you from entering the exam.
* Go to the **Assigned Test** link and then click **Download SEB file**.
* Now, download the file and open the .seb file by double-clicking it — the test will automatically launch inside SEB. All other instructions are the same as for a normal browser.
### (3) Examin8 App
Examin8 App is an Android application available on the Google Play Store, designed to offer a controlled and secure environment for online examinations. During the test, students are required to keep **Aeroplane Mode enabled**, ensuring no access to other apps, messages, or online resources that could be used to search for answers. Enabling Wi-Fi, switching to mobile data or disabling Aeroplane Mode triggers strict restrictions.
If a student turns on internet access or attempts to open external applications during the exam, the system immediately **auto-submits the test**, and access to unanswered questions is revoked. This mechanism ensures fair conduct, prevents cheating, and maintains exam integrity even without a fully locked browser environment.
The app is lightweight, user-friendly, and optimized for smooth performance across Android devices, making it a reliable option for institutes conducting secure mobile-based examinations.
**(a) Direct Test Link**: The test shared without a batch doesn't work on the Examin8 App. You will get the option to attempt it on a web browser or the Safe Exam Browser only.
**(b) Test Assigned to Batch**: Here are the steps to follow:
* Ensure that the [Examin8 App](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.examin8.exam) is updated to its latest version before starting your test.
* You must have at least **100 MB of free space** on your device to download the test.
* **Keep your internet ON** and open the Examin8 App.
* Sign in using the exact credentials registered with your institute or the ones they have provided for accessing this batch. Logging in with any other email address or mobile number will prevent you from entering the exam.
* Go to the **Assigned Test** link and then click **Take Test**.
* After you click the Take Test button, the test will be downloaded onto your device. After that, you will get a pop-up to enable offline mode.
* Here, you have to put your phone on Aeroplane mode until the test is going on. If you turn on internet access during the exam, the system will block further attempts and only allow you to submit the test, leaving no option to continue answering questions.
* If it happens accidentally, you can SUBMIT the test and then ask your institute to DELETE your attempt. So that you can attempt it again.
* In this situation, **Allow Re-Attempt will not function**. You must first submit the test, after which your institute can delete the attempt and enable you to retake it. However, this means all previously answered questions will be lost, and you will have to start the entire test from the beginning.
* After successfully submitting the test, you must upload it to receive your results. Submission alone is not enough; uploading is a mandatory step.
* To upload the test, you need to turn off Aeroplane Mode and enable your internet connection. Once connected, click on **Upload Test**.
* Your data will be synced with the server, and your result will be provided according to the institute’s configured settings.
## How to Get Results
Once a student submits the test, they are automatically taken to the results page. Depending on the institute’s chosen settings, the results will be displayed there. Students can revisit the same link at any time to view their results again.
You’ll be able to see your overall result along with a breakdown of each section.
**Review questions**: You'll also be able to review your responses along with step-by-step solutions for every question—simply select **View Solution** or **Review** to open them.
**Report questions**: If you notice anything unclear, incorrect, or incomplete in a question or answer, please let our content team know.
If you have been added to any batch, you can log in directly to [https://web.examin8.com](https://web.examin8.com) to access your result and performance analysis at any time.

# Two Column PDF
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/testpaper/compact-pdf
Description of your new file.
For competitive exams, the generated PDF generally have large number of pages. This costs a lot if the PDF needs to be printed.
To save both cost and page, we provide the option to generate compact PDF which displays questions in 2 columns thereby saving page.
Below is the example of a sample compact PDF.
To generate compact PDF, acess testpaper card in [https://app.examin8.com/user-testpapers](https://app.examin8.com/user-testpapers) , click Actions and then select **Generate 2 Column Question PDF**.
# PDF Header & Footer
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/testpaper/header-footer
Add and Edit PDF header and footer
You can include your **name and logo** in the Question Paper PDF files. To do this, open the **Institute Block** on the Test Generator dashboard and click on the **“PDF Headers”** icon.
You can add up to **three headers** here. If you are a school teacher who also runs your own coaching institute or teaches in two or three different coaching classes, you may add three separate headers and use them as needed while creating question papers.
## Header Types
There are **three types of headers**, and each serves a different purpose. Let’s understand them one by one.
### (1) Only Text
It is the case where you want to add only text in your PDF header page. For example, the school name and the school address.
This will display in a PDF file as below:
The last line is the footer of the PDF page.
### (2) Text + Square Logo
The second use case is where we are adding a square logo and text. Here is the example:
Here, you will get the option to add a square logo. Make sure that the logo is in jpg ro png format with a white background. Don't keep the background transparent.
You can upload and crop the image there. Below is the output:
### (3) Full-length Image (max-width: 750px by 100px)
To upload your own PDF header, you can use the third option there. Make sure that your header size is 750px by 100px in size. The background is recommended to be white. Just select the image from your device, crop and upload.
Here is the output of this header:

# Internal Choice in Questions
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/testpaper/internal-choice
There are multiple use cases where we add questions differently, like internal choices, groups, inner groups, etc. In this article, we will take all such use cases.
### (1) Internal Choice within Question
This is the case where you need to add another question with an **OR** between them, allowing students to attempt any one of them. You can add a maximum of two internal choices within one question.
**(a) Example:**
**(b) Applicability:**
You can apply "Internal Choice within Question" to
1. Question Paper (PDF/Word)
2. Worksheet (PDF/Word)
It **doesn't work with** "Online Test - Objective (Link)" and "Online Test - Subjective (Link)".
**(c) Implementation:**
(i) While creating a question paper in any blueprint mode, you will get the option to add an internal choice in Step-3 (Preview & Generate Paper). Just click on the ACTIONS button below the question and click "Add Internal Choice". In this case, an internal choice question will be added from the same chapter. If you want to add the internal choice question from a different chapter, you must use manual mode while creating the paper.
(ii) If you are creating a question paper in Manual Mode or creating a blueprint, you will get the option to add an internal choice to the particular question. As an internal choice is provided against each question individually, you will get this option only if you have selected a **single question** in the required questions field.
You can select an internal choice from the same chapter or any other chapter while doing so in manual mode.
### (2) Internal Choice within Section
This is the case where we have given the choice to attempt n number of questions from a particular section.
**(a) Example:**
Suppose there are 10 questions in Section-B and you want students to attempt any 8 questions out of these 10 questions, you should use this feature.
**(b) Applicability:**
You can apply "Internal Choice within Question" to
1. Question Paper (PDF/Word)
2. Worksheet (PDF/Word)
3. Online Test - Objective (Link)
4. Online Test - Subjective (Link)
**(c) Implementation:**
When creating a paper in any blueprint mode, always enter the *full number of questions* that belong to each section, even if students will ultimately attempt fewer. This may temporarily increase the total marks, but that is expected. The marks will be accurately adjusted later in **Step 3**, when you apply **Internal Choice Within a Section**.\
Make sure to calculate these temporary extra marks correctly and carry both the actual question count and the inflated marks into **Step 2**, as the proper reduction happens in **Step 3**.
**Example (Manual Mode)**
If, in Section B, students are required to attempt **8 out of 10** questions, you **must** enter all **10 questions** in Step 2.\
This will temporarily raise the total marks, and that is fine—do **not** adjust the marks at this stage. The correct total will be applied automatically once the internal choice is set up in Step 3.
**Example (Express Mode)**
If all 3-mark questions fall under Section B, you should enter **10 questions** (totaling 30 marks).\
In Step 3, you will then have the option to reduce the effective marks by specifying an internal choice within that section.
**Important Note**
If you enter **only 8 questions** in Step 2, you will **not** be able to add the remaining questions later. As a result, you will be unable to apply **Internal Choice Within the Section** in Step 3.
**Implementation in Step-3**
Go to **“Advance Test Options”** and, under **“Add Internal Choice within Sections,”** click **Enable**.
**Specify the number of questions the student should attempt in each section.**\
For instance, if a section has 25 questions and you want the student to attempt only 20, simply enter **20**.\
If you leave a section empty, it indicates **no choice is available**, and the student will be required to attempt **all** questions in that section.
**Be sure to update the total marks as well.**\
In the example above, the original paper had 75 questions for 300 marks (4 marks per question).\
If you reduce the total number of questions to 65, the marks must be recalculated:\
**65 × 4 = 260**.\
So, replace **300** with **260** in the total marks field.
Now, you will get this choice in PDF file as well as during online tests, students will get the option to attempt the specified number of questions.
### (3) Internal Choice within Group
This setting is used when several questions are combined into a single group, and students are allowed to attempt only a specified number of questions from that group. You can add a maximum of 50 questions to one group.
**(a) Example:**
Suppose a group has 6 questions, and students are asked to attempt any 5 of them. For example
**(b) Applicability:**
You can apply "Internal Choice within Group" to
1. Question Paper (PDF/Word)
2. Worksheet (PDF/Word)
It **doesn't work with** "Online Test - Objective (Link)" and "Online Test - Subjective (Link)".
**(c) Implementation: (MANUAL MODE ONLY)**
It works only in \*\*Manual Mode \*\*or while creating blueprints. You will **NOT** get this option in **Express Mode**. However, you may encounter such grouped questions in **Automated**, **Dynamic**, or **PYQ** modes, but in these modes, you can only modify the options provided.
**Steps to follow:**
1. Choose blueprint mode as MANUAL MODE while creating paper.
2. On the next screen, click on "Add Group Question"
3. Now select a label for this group. You can also type your own group label there or edit the provided labels.
4. Here in the label itself, you will mention how many questions students will attempt and also put the total marks for this group accordingly.
5. For example, if there are FIVE 3-mark questions and students need to attempt any FOUR of them, your label may be "Attempt any FOUR of the following questions:" and total marks assigned to this group will be 3 X 4 = 12 Marks.
6. Now, click on "Add Questions" within this box to add questions to the group.
7. Here, one pop-up will appear to add questions. If you want to add all questions from one chapter only, you can select all 5 questions at once.
8. Otherwise, if you want to add questions from multiple chapters, you can repeat points 6 and 7 multiple times for each chapter.
9. It means to add more questions from multiple chapters. You need to click "Add Questions" multiple times and choose the number of questions from that chapter.
### (4) Internal Choice between Two Groups
It is the case where we have two separate group questions with OR between them.
**(a) Example:**
**(b) Applicability:**
To make it exactly similar to the example given above, use label as "Attempt either A or B:"
4. After that, we will add two sub-groups to this group.
5. Click the "Add Group Question" link provided within the box. Enter label as "Answer the following questions". Choose a chapter, a topic and the number of questions, then click OK.
6. Repeat the above step to add another group question.
7. Now, add. more questions and proceed to next step.
### (5) Internal Choice within Paragraph Questions
This is the case where you are choosing questions based on a paragraph or an extract that is provided under "Add Paragraph Question" in manual mode or while creating a blueprint.
**(a) Example:**
If one case-study or extract has 5 questions and any one of them has an internal choice, you can use this feature.
**(b) Applicability:**
You can apply it to
2. On the next screen, click on "Add Paragraph Question"
3. Now select the number of questions required. It should be less the provided questions to enable internal choice.
4. Then select the question number for which you want to add an internal choice and click OK.
It will show internal choice with the chosen question.
### (6) Internal Choice Between Paragraphs
This is the case where you are giving a choice between two paragraphs or two extracts that are provided under "Add Paragraph Question" in manual mode or while creating a blueprint.
**(a) Example:**
Two paragraphs or extracts are given with questions, placing the text \*\*OR \*\*between them.
**(b) Applicability:**
You can apply it to
1. Question Paper (PDF/Word)
2. Worksheet (PDF/Word)
It **doesn't work with** "Online Test - Objective (Link)" and "Online Test - Subjective (Link)".
\*\*(c) Implementation: \*\*
\*\*(i) MANUAL MODE: \*\*It works only in \*\*Manual Mode \*\*or while creating blueprints. You will **NOT** get this option in **Express Mode**. However, you can add this type of internal choice within two paragraphs in Step 3, too.
**Steps to follow:**
1. Choose blueprint mode as MANUAL MODE while creating paper.
2. On the next screen, click on "Add Paragraph Question"
3. Select one paragraph with the desired questions and click OK.
4. Now, click "Add internal choice" to get the same pop-up again.
5. Choose the paragraph again to add as another choice.
This will add another paragraph as an internal choice.
**(ii) EXPRESS MODE:**
**Steps:**
1. Select express mode while creating a question paper.
2. Select a chapter and the topic. You can choose all topics to get all questions from this chapter together.
3. Now, choose Paragraph like Case Study Questions (obj) \[set of 5 Ques] and enter the number of paragraphs required. Ideally, it should be 1 paragraph only because we will add the internal choice in step-3 only.
4. Each paragraph contains multiple questions. In this example, the paragraph includes a set of five questions. You can choose how many of these the student must attempt—any number up to five, but not more than that.
5. Then proceed to next step after adding more questions to the paper.
6. In step 3, you have the option to add an internal choice.
7. Just click ACTIONS below the paragraph text and click Add Internal Choice to get it.
# Creating Multiple Sets
Source: https://docs.examin8.com/testpaper/multiple-set
Description of your new file.
In an examination setup, maintaining question paper integrity is crucial to prevent cheating and ensure fairness. To address this, **Examin8** provides a powerful feature called **Multiple Sets**.
**Multiple Sets** allow teachers to create more than one version of the same question paper — for example, *Set A*, *Set B*, and *Set C*. Each set follows the **same blueprint or structure** (same chapters, question types, marks distribution, and difficulty level) but contains **different questions** or **a shuffled arrangement** of the same questions.
To create multiple sets for a question paper, access question card in [https://app.examin8.com/user-testpapers/](https://app.examin8.com/user-testpapers/), click **Actions** and select **Repeat** option.
This will open a popup with details to create sets.
Select options as per your requirement and a new testpaper is created.

### Remove Tables
The Word file you have downloaded is in a three-column table format to maintain a uniform gap between the question number, the question text and the marks columns.
If you don't want these tables, you have two options:
(a) Hide the table\
(b) Remove the table permanently
Let's discuss them one by one.
### Video Tutorial

### **Hide the Table**
**Hide the table lines** so that the formatting of the text will remain there, but the table will not be visible. Like this:
To do so, right-click anywhere within the table and select the **Borders and shading** option.
Then, in the borders setting, choose **None** and click OK.
### **Remove the Table**
**Permanently remove the table structure** and keep only text so that you can do the formatting part yourself. Like this:
To do so, click anywhere within the table and then click "**Table Layout**" on the top toolbar. Then click the **Convert to Text** link on the right.
Now choose **Separate text with - Tabs** and click **OK**.
This formatting may disturb some text alignment, but that is manageable.

Thousands of schools and coaching institutions across the country rely on Examin8 Test Generator to effortlessly create question papers, worksheets, and conduct online assessments. However, many educators and institutions have shared a common request with us: **they want their students to access tests and study materials directly from their own websites, without ever knowing that a third-party platform like Examin8 is involved**.
With our latest update, **Examin8 Test Generator can now be seamlessly integrated into your own website**. This means your students will no longer have to navigate away from your platform to attempt tests, access study materials, or watch learning videos. Everything—from test creation to learning content—will be available directly on your website, under your branding.
## **How Does It Work?**
The process is simple and takes just a few minutes:
1. **Create a Subdomain**: We’ll ask you to create a subdomain (e.g., [exams.yourschool.com](http://exams.yourschool.com)) within your existing website.
2. **Update CNAME Record**: Next, you’ll update the CNAME record in your domain settings to point to the Examin8 platform.
3. **Customize Your Portal**: You’ll have the option to fully customize the integrated portal—add your institute’s name, logo, and address to maintain consistent branding.
Once completed, students can log in, take tests, view study materials, and watch learning videos without ever leaving your website. **Your brand stays front and center**, while we handle the technical aspects in the background.
## **What are the Charges?**
The **Exam Portal Integration for the Examin8 Test Generator** is designed to help educational institutions deliver a smooth, professional, and fully branded online assessment experience. This integration allows schools and coaching institutes to seamlessly connect their existing exam portal with the Examin8 Test Generator, ensuring consistency in user experience while maintaining complete control over their digital learning environment. Whether your goal is operational efficiency or strengthening your brand presence, this solution supports high-quality, uninterrupted online testing.
The integration involves a **one-time setup charge of ₹3,000 plus 18% GST**, which covers the complete configuration and technical alignment of your exam portal with the Examin8 Test Generator. In addition, there is an **annual subscription fee of ₹5,000 plus 18% GST**, making the total cost **₹8,000 plus 18% GST** for the first year. The annual subscription remains valid for one year from the date of purchase and includes continued access to integration features and support.
From the second year onward, institutions can renew the integration by paying an **annual renewal fee of ₹5,000 plus 18% GST**. Please note that the **Examin8 Test Generator itself is a separate subscription** and is not included in the integration charges. This pricing structure ensures flexibility, allowing institutions to scale their digital assessment ecosystem while paying only for the services they require.
## **How Will It Look?**
To help you envision the experience, we’ve prepared a short video that demonstrates how the integrated interface will look and function on your website. You’ll see how smooth the student experience can be—clean, intuitive, and fully branded to your institution.
By offering this level of integration, we’re ensuring that **your students stay engaged within your digital ecosystem** while benefiting from the power of Examin8’s test creation and management tools.

**Contact us today (**[**contact@examin8.com**](mailto:contact@examin8.com)**) to learn more about how to set up your Examin8 portal on your website. Let’s take your online learning to the next level!**
## **Key Differences Explained**
#### **1. Brand Identity**
* **Examin8 Portal:** When students take a test, they are aware they are using a third-party tool. While you can add your logo to the test papers, the "home" they visit is clearly an Examin8 platform.
* **Own Domain:** This is a "White-Label" solution. The student interacts with your brand throughout the entire journey—from logging in to viewing results. This builds significantly higher authority for your institute.
#### **2. User Journey & Retention**
* **Examin8 Portal:** Students must remember a different URL or download the generic Examin8 app. This break in the user journey can sometimes lead to confusion.
* **Own Domain:** It eliminates the "navigation gap." Because the exam portal is just a subdomain of your main site, like `exams.yourschool.com`Students feel they are always on your official platform.
#### **3. Professionalism for Parents/Students**
* **Examin8 Portal:** Common for smaller tutors or individual teachers.
* **Own Domain:** Preferred by established schools and coaching centres. It gives the impression that the institute has its own high-end technology infrastructure.
#### **4. Technical Implementation**
* **Examin8 Portal:** You just share a link.
* **Own Domain:** You (or your web developer) must create a **subdomain** and point the **CNAME record** to Examin8. Once the "handshake" between your domain and their server is done, Examin8 handles the hosting and security in the background.
### **Which one should you choose?**
* **Choose Standalone (Examin8)** if you are just starting out, have a very limited budget, or don't have your own institute website yet.
* **Choose Your Own Domain** if you have an existing website, want to grow your brand, and want to provide a premium, "all-in-one" experience where students never have to leave your site to study or take tests.

Description of your new file.
Single Sign-On (SSO) provides an easier signup and login experience. Once SSO is configured, your users can directly access [https://app.examin8.com](https://app.examin8.com) with your website credentials. There is no need to manually create new accounts in our website.
We support any SAML 2.0–compatible Identity Provider (IdP).
Examin8 acts as the Service Provider (SP), and offers automatic user provisioning. You do not need to register as a user in Examin8. Once Examin8 receives a SAML response from the Identity Provider (IdP), it checks if this user exists. If the user does not exist, Examin8 creates a user account automatically with the received details.
Please contact our support team for configuring SSO in you account.
For SSO configuration, we need below information:
* **Email domain**
This should be a domain owned and managed by you. We will configure this domain for your organization's SSO login.
* **X.509 Public certifcate**
You will use your private key to digitally sign the SAML response or assertion. We will then use your public key to verify the signature and automatically login the user on successful verification.
Once we have configured SSO, we will provide you the ACS URL and other details.
ACS URL: [https://app.examin8.com/accounts/saml/\{slug}/acs/](https://app.examin8.com/accounts/saml/\{slug}/acs/)
